Description: Annual glabrous grass. 10 to 50 cm in height. Flowers: 1 to 4 cm inflorescence, like a head, only 1 sided spikelets. Fertile spikelets are 5-6 mm long and have short awns, about 3-10 mm. Sterile spikelets are ciliate with no awns. Creates small, oblong tan seeds.
Leaves: 4 to 10 cm long, 2 to 5 mm wide, from the base of the plant.
Reproduction: By seed.
Flowering: June through August.
