Description: Mat forming grass spread by underground runners/rhizomes.
Flowers: Hardly ever present, but when it does flower, they apprear on leafy, vegetative side shoots with only stamens visible (thread like, white structures). Seeds can ebe found only by dissecting leaf sheaths.
Leaves: Overlapping leaf sheaths,folded when young, later flat, bright green and about 1 cm wide, 1.25-5 cm long, with rough margins.
Reproduction: By seed and vegetatively.
