Common names: Monterey Pine
Description: Large, wuick growing tree, reaching up to 100 feet and 3 feet in diamteter with slender dark twigs. Mature bark is dark, reddish brown.
Flowers: Male cones in yellow spikes, female cones dark purple. Egg shaped fruit, often clustered, shiny brown, cone scales tipped with a small hook on the end.
Leaves: Evergreen needles, 4 to 6 inches long, 3 per fasicle. Shiny gren.
