Common names: Periwinkle
Description: Climbing vine, herbaceous and glabrous with sparse hairs up to 2m long, rooting at the nodes.
Flowers: Single axillary flowers,purple with white at the base. 5 lobes to 1.8 cm broad and 2 cm tall and 5 stamens.
Leaves: Opposite and petiolate withs parse cilia on margins. Blades are 6cm long, up to 45 cm wide and ovate in shape. Dark green above dull green below.
Reproduction: Vegetatively, rooting at nodes. By seed.
Flowering: April through May.
Habitat and Ecology: Native to Europe.
