VULPIA MYUROS


Common names:Vulpia, Rattail Fescue
Description: Densley tufted annual to .6 m high.
Flowers: 1 sided inflorescence, erect, 2 to 20 cm long, 1 cm wide. Partially enclosed by the uppermost sheath. 7 to 9 mm long spikelets with 4 to 7 florets each. Lower glumes are smaller than the upper, which have long awns.
Leaves: Flat blades, rolling when dry, and upper surface hairs.
Reproduction: By seed
Flowering: March through May
